BIS CH Air Capital Springtime Arpad
Owner & Breeder:
Edwin Luther (Air Capital)
List of Accomplishments:
All-Breed Best in Show winner at the Minneapolis Kennel Club on November 14, 1954. Arpad also won at least 6 Hound Groups, handled in his show career by Dee Anderson. Arpad may have been the first all-breed BIS parti-colored saluki.
Arpad came from all old American Saluki bloodlines and was heavily linebred. Arpad sired at least one litter from which two offspring figure in the pedigees of Canem-dei (Mimi Carlyle), El Salih/Qarah (Heidi Choquette) and Al Salaam (Wendell Allen). He is the great-great grandsire of 4 Best in Show winners (from 3 litters), 3 of which were Multiple All Breed Best In Show winners. One set a new world record for All-Breed Best In Show wins, and one was the #1 Saluki for two years (Phillips System ).
In personality, Arpad was a typically arrogant, aloof Saluki with a pure satin coat and great style of movement, having the true elegant lifting prance the breed is supposed to have; he barely touched the ground.
