List of Accomplishments:
No. 2 BIS winner in Canada and No. 4 BISS winner in the United States, Top Ten 1974 and 1975. Brahma II won the First Independent Specialty of the Galveston Bay Saluki Club in March 1975 and the National Specialty of the Saluki Club of America, also in 1975. Brahma was Best of Breed at Westminster in 1974 and Best of Breed and Group III at Westminster in 1975. He was always handled by Afton Blake or Tom Bruni. At the 1974 Westminster show where Brahma took Group III, 5,000 people were cheering for him because he moved "like music", bringing tears to Winafred's eyes. In Canada, Brahma went Best in Show at the Western Gazehound Specialty in 1974.
Brahma was outstanding in the field as well, finishing his field coursing championship in 4 trials in 1973. In 1972, he won the Santa Barabara Lure Chase in an entry of over 60 Salukis. He also won the ASA Krisna Cup in 1977 for the outstanding accomplishments of his off spring on the lure and the Siva Cup in 1973.
Brahma holds the record as third Top Producer of all time with 50 Champions by 17 Dams in 22 litters. More than any other stud, Brahma epitomizes the early Srinagar type which is consistent to this day.
The Brahma II Cup is the oldest lure coursing trophy offered by the ASA. It was offered in 1973 by the Hounds of Srinagar in honor of Brahma. The Cup is a sterling silver eliptical bowl with silver ornamentation resting on a wooden base with plaques for the names of the winners. It is presented to the highest placing open stake and field champion stake Saluki (owned by an ASA member).
